Micah Yancey Rust, a Texas Tech University graduate with a background in advertising and marketing, created Micah Yancey Jewelry in 2006, and in 2008, she created an extension of the brand with the BonBon line. Micah aligned the BonBon line with her core jewelry design principles: simple, clean, well-made, sophisticated and parallel to current fashion trends.

She has a deep appreciation for beautiful and unique semi- precious stones, and each stone is personally and carefully chosen by Micah for each of her handmade pieces. The materials used include 14 karat gold-filled and 24 karat gold overlay, along with unique semi-precious gemstones. Many of the stones in this line look good enough to eat, which explains her inspiration for the name, BonBon, meaning “candy” in French.  The collection includes “confectionery” couture earrings, necklaces and bracelets – each enticing, bright, luscious, and unique, as no two pieces are exactly alike.

Micah participated in Austin Fashion Week in its first six years, winning a nomination for Best Designer: People’s Choice in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 at the Austin Fashion Awards. BonBon by Micah Yancey jewelry has been featured in the December 2015 issue of Southern Living Magazine, on Ann Curry of NBC's The Today Show, on Emily Maynard of ABC's The Bachelorette, on Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie,
